Monday -
Students should assemble a small still life at home, at least three objects but not more than five, and draw them. Emphasis is on proportion of objects to each other and value (shading) of objects. Highlight, middle values and shadows should be represented.
Wednesday -
Students should research and select two artists that they would be interesting in completing a research paper and presentation on. Details for requirements will be presented in class next week. Artists can be deceased or contemporary, but must be visual artists (not writers or musicians) and must have some level of notoriety or fame. Names of artists are due Friday.

10/17/2011 Sketchbook Homework
Monday's assignment: Students complete one fall landscape that represents the aerial perspective techniques learned during the project, i.e. reduction in size of objects, moving objects closer to horizon line, and/or lightening color of objects that recede.
Wednesday's assignment: Students complete one value study of an objects resting on a table, must include the shadows on the table surface.
