12/12 Sketchbook Homework

Students will do four drawings, and may choice from these techniques to represent:

• value study

• aerial perspective

• one or two point perspective

• negative space drawing

Students do not have to do one of each style, they may choice from these styles whichever would benefit them most.

Drawings due Friday 12/16/2011.

12/5 Sketchbook Homework

Monday - three drawings of things that remind students of winter, shaded and detailed.

Wednesday - draw a piece of fruit in two phases, one intact and the other half eaten.

Reproductions

Students are starting reproductions of paintings to develop skills in proportion, placement, scale, color mixing, technique and craftsmanship.

11/28 Sketchbook Homework

Monday - students must complete two drawings of mugs or glassware, detailed and shaded, in pencil. Should show highlight, middle values, and shadows.

Wednesday - students will be given a sheet to fill out on their artist for their research paper.

These are due Friday 12/2/2011.

Students must find and draw two branches or sticks in detail, shaded and from life. Due 11/23/2011.

Monday - students will choose two fonts, and must write the phrase "the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog" (this sentence uses all letters of the alphabet) in both fonts.
Wednesday - free drawing assignment, object(s) of choice. Enjoy!
